Lacoste, the renowned French fashion brand, recently announced the appointment of Pelagia Kolotouros as its new Creative Director. Kolotouros stepped into the role following the departure of Louise Trotter, marking a significant transition for the brand.
Bringing a wealth of experience from her tenure at Adidas and The North Face, Kolotouros presented her vision for Lacoste at Paris Fashion Week, the brand’s first appearance since 2021. Titled "Victory of 1927," her debut collection pays homage to Lacoste's storied heritage on the tennis court, particularly René Lacoste's historic Davis Cup win.
Kolotouros's collection features a blend of traditional French tennis uniforms with modern twists. The iconic Lacoste crocodile logo adorns slim-cut suiting and wool overcoats, while reinterpretations of 1933 polo shirts are crafted in fleece textiles, paired with pleated skirts and elongated belts.
Signature white and green tones feature prominently throughout the collection, adorning robust puffer coats and off-shoulder dresses. Archival "Chemise Lacoste" labels decorate graphic-heavy knitwear and blazers, showcasing the brand's heritage. Along with dated gametime photographs to add a nostalgic touch, while silver-trimmed accents lend a contemporary edge.
All of which was staged on a runway presented as the main court of French Open stadium Roland-Garros.
The appointment of Pelagia Kolotouros signals a new chapter for Lacoste, blending heritage with innovation for Tennis a la Streetwear Chic.
