Rotimi, the American singer and actor best known for his role as “Dre” in the series Power, was recently featured on the Earn Your Leisure (EYL) Podcast and spoke about how 50 Cent is a marketing genius, and in a very 50 Cent type of way.
Power is a popular American crime drama series created and produced by Courtney A. Kemp in collaboration with Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson. During season two, there was another series released on Fox called “Empire”, a show of a similar nature with lots of double-crossing and battles for control, although Empire is focused on the music business and Power is more focused on the drug business.
With a reported $100,000,000 marketing budget set aside for Empire, there was a challenge for 50s team and the smaller TV network Starz to compete, so 50 being 50, he figured out a way to benefit from his competitors’ deeper pockets.
